This blog is primarily dedicated to the MH Society, a group of talented authors who have made me take writing far more seriously than I ever have, and who demanded more Eudora and Louisa stories for their (and my) enjoyment! Eat your heart out, ladies!
Also to my husband Stuart, who listens to first drafts and rewrites and who lives with the real Eudora all the time (and really that is such a huge thing, believe me!)
To everyone else who may stumble across these quirky characters of mine, may you love them as much as I do, remember your own precious childhood memories, and endeavor not to strangle Eudora. . .or me. In the manner of Louisa May Alcott, I hope all of you may appreciate my work not for what it is now, but for what it may one day become.
I'm a lover of all things beautiful and mysterious. On [roo-nik], I discuss how I see these elements in the world around me - in God, in literature, in art, in music, in nature, and in simple everyday occurrences. I hope you enjoy these thoughts as much as I enjoy sharing them with you.
1. Apologize to Mrs. Argyle for upsetting her chicken coop.
2. Get Haley to publish creamsicle story
3. Set the table
4. Get some culture (Theatre? Pearls? Bach?)
5. Send Portugal poem to Random House for publishing
Mrs. Argyle's Chicken Corner
Hello,
Haley wanted me to have a "presence" on the Eudora and Louisa blog, whatever that means. I don't agree with these newfangled notions of talking to everyone on the planet. But since she wants it I'll do it for her, but only because she buys fresh eggs from me. But if I get murdered in my bed, Haley's to blame!
Chickens are what I'm interested in, and chickens its going to be. Here's a chicken fact for you:
* Chickens aren't able to sustain flight for very long.
There. I got lots more where that came from. I've been tending chickens for 35 years and love them. If you all come and see my house sometime, I'll show you my collection of chicken beaks.
I live alone on a small farm just a couple of miles from Eudora and Louisa, on Frazer Lane. They're nice girls, especially Louisa, she never causes any trouble. But that Eudora!
Anyway, I've got to be getting back to work now. Haley, I hope your making other neighbors do this too.
